This is one of my favorite breakfasts. If for some reason you have leftovers, I discovered that they make for a good cold snack later in the day as well.
for 1 thru-hikerish serving:
1/2 cup couscous
1/3 cup instant milk
1/8 cup dried cherries or blueberries or craisins, etc.
1/8 cup chopped walnuts
1-1/4 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. salt
Mix it all together and add hot water in camp (enough so that it is pretty liquidy - it'll soak up a lot). Let it sit for a couple minutes until couscous is soft.
This works really well for zip-lock cooking.
