Man, I want to go back so bad I can taste it.

I work in a windowless office in North Hollywood, I'm lucky if I get to the see the SUN once a day, let alone a tree!

I want to go back!

Work Sucks! I'd rather be hiking!

having just watched prodeal's brand-spakin-new class of 2006 slide show dvd, i have to say i'm definitely itching to get back out. i'll be heading up to oregon in august to hike the 37 miles that were burning last year, but other than that i'll have to wait until i can afford to hike the cdt...

Rather appropriate topic for my first post here. The year after I hiked I was dying to get back out, and did (AT, GDT). The next year I wasn't feeling as inspired, but set out on the CDT anyways. Not such a good idea and back I came after 400 miles. I realized I couldn't get back 2003. I couldn't recaptured those feelings and that experience. So, I moved on and started climbing. It feels a lot like it did before I hiked. I'll be climbing in the area (WA) and northern BC this summer. However, the spring bloom has me thinking about going for a wee little walk next year. The time may be right in 08. A friend of mine is setting out on the PCT this year and I can see the same look in her that I had in 03. It is a little contagious.

i've definitely felt that the idea of re-hiking the pct (or whatever) in order to try to recapture or relive the experience is more or less like trying to go back to high school and repeat your senior year. as much as i'd like to think that i want to get back out and do the pct again, i realize that for now i need to set my sights on a similar, but different goal (cdt) in order to get a semblance of that same sort of excitement i had about the pct. and i'm going to need a couple of seasons away from the trail, too.

still, in the back of my mind, i seem to somehow *know* that i'll hike the pct again eventually. though i suspect i'll regard this in a fundamentally different way than my first thru-hike. instead of stepping out into the unknown, it will be more like going home.

Man, I was there not long ago working on a short film and then a Ducati commercial in Mulholand drive area...stayed in Hollywood for 8 days....next time.

I hiked back and forth around South of the Saufleys and North of The Anderson's during Late January and February.

Im heading out to the AT to hike from Erwin to Trail days in a week or so...PCT is where I long to be....
