Cant believe I just found this. Guess I spend too much time in the woods. :D
Just got back a week or so ago from spending a month and a half in the SoCAl desert between Acton and Walker Pass hiking back and forth and chilling with the Anderson's/Saulfeys everytime the snow hit...which it did a couple of times.
Water is scarce out there right now...worse then when I went through in June this year...seriously.
Every little creek and spring are dried and the snow and rainfall levels are dangerously low again this year, so this years Thrus-be ready for it.
I also wanted to share a couple of video clips of the PCT this year, there are about 9 PCT clips at this link, you may see some folks you know from this year. (and a couple of 2003 ATers)
Check out the Washington one to see just a small percentage of the major damage people will have to deal with in WA this year...from what was happening when I was there in mid - November, I can tell you some of the trails are probably gone.
