My wife & I just thru-hiked the AT southbound and now want to hike the PCT. We are planning a hike in the next 5 or more years (after a cross country bicycle ride...we missed our bikes). Are there any good guide books such as the AT's Appalachian Pages, Wingfoot, AT Thru-hikers companion for mileage, points of intrest, towns, etc.?

Insert foot in mouth....

Sorry! I just found the section of this site that deals with this question. I will order Yogi's book and begin dreaming...

Welcome to the site Silver Potato! Just earlier this week I discovered a site offering a new set of guidebooks. Might be worth looking into. Let us know if you do.

The site is: http://www.pctatlas.com/

That is very intresting...I look forward to all the editions when they come out in '09 and will order them. Thanks for the info. I'm trying to get my hands on as many books as possible. I read many books on the AT and have grown up near it so i was very familiar with it before our hike and would like to do the same with the PCT. Our friend from the AT, German Tourist (GT is now a Triple Crowner), got us fired up for the PCT.
