Suggestions on what I can do to get into Canada. I have been denied entry into Canada. Reason they say I have past felony charges for kidnapping and armed robbery in California. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO CALIFORNIA.

So I went to my local police to see if I have any US legal problems. I was finger printed and ran through the national database and NO problems came up. I have never been arrested so I knew this would be fine. My local police station said they really can't help me because there is no US problems and I have to deal with the Canadian immigration department.

I called the California Justice department and they are mailing me documents to fill out and get a criminal background check for that state. It will cost 45 bucks for me to get finger printed again and 55 bucks for them to do the background check.

Has anyone gone through anything similar to this? Any suggestions?

When I first read this I thought who spammed or what a terrible joke.
This is a nightmare...sounds as bad an identity theft. I thought mine was bad...but yours wins hands down Stick.

I have a few problems in that I can never leave the USA either...can't get a Passport.

I have never had a birth certificate; I was never registered...So therefore I cannot apply for a copy of what never was. Both the Doctor and Hospital failed to register me. We never realized it because I had my cute little hospital paper with my tiny footprints on it.

I have been fighting since 1988 to try and get one. Ever since I won a cruise with airline tickets and hotel the whole kit and caboodle prize to the Bahamas!
I was able to use the RT airline tickets to go to Vermont instead, which was very kind of the company when they realized my situation.

I wish you the very best...it is a long fight and costly.

On the lighter side...you just have to reach the Canadian border on the trail right? How many legal authorities are going to be out there?? I doubt any...of course after hiking so far I know it would be nice to enter Canada and relax.

For me this year I may get a delayed birth certificate that will say I am now a one year old....hah try to get a passport with that!

If I hire a lawyer and go to court ... go before a Judge and must win...I can get an acceptable delayed birth certificate but may not for sure get a passport with it.
The only thing I can suggest is there are now lawyers who handle this kind of thing. It is costly and takes time.
Again wish you the best...keep fighting.
