Having trouble with Post Trail Stress Disorder? Let's get some contacts going here. Incidentally, Girlscout, Paparazzi, Slim Shady (Cole), I and a few from the class of 2007 had a PCT party at the Pizza Port in Solana Beach last week. It was therapeutic to say the least. We are all suffering from PTSD and this was a great way to re-live some trail moments.
Paprazzi has some outstanding photography from the trail. I hope we can get him on this forum to see what he is going to do with all those fantastic pictures.

Hey Everybody!

Chai Guy here. Just to let you all know, I made it as far as Cascade Locks Oregon this year. I just didn't trust myself in the weather and it had stopped being fun for me this year. I do plan on finishing up next this summer however as well as putting in some time in the kitchen helping out the Hietmans in Old Station, so you will see me on the Trail again!

Glad to see everyone here!

Namaste,

Chai Guy

Hello,
Just joined. Doing a PCT thru this year. Thru hiked the AT in 1990 and 2002 but don't know squat about the west. I'm sure this site is just the ticket.
THANKS,

Just joined...

Did the At in '98, and attempted the PCT in '03... made it to Donner Pass and then injuries forced me off. I'm still sorta limping from that actually. Isn't going to stop me from finishing it up some day though.

Aloha Everyone,
I was one of the lurkers...so I joined!
I plan on doing parts of the PCT one day:p Mostly the Oregon and Washington parts...since I have already did a lot of the California areas.

For now I am just a hiker and hammock hanger living on the island of Maui.
Wishing I had used my time more wisely when I was younger and stronger to have hiked the PCT.
I use to live in Big Bear Lake, CA and back then occasionally we would see a thru hiker. I did hike the surrounding areas but nothing but a couple of days out.

I am planning on the JMT this August with my two sons, since my last attempt failed in a way with my dear sweet hubby of mine. Not truly failed...just not completed. Any day hiking is better than sitting home in front of a computer...dreaming you were hiking!

So I hope to share helpful info I have gleaned once and a while and learn from others experiences here as well.

On the "Howdy" bandwagon...

I see a few familiar faces (screen names?!?!?) .

For those who don't know me....

I've been part of this community since 1996 or so when I started with my first backpacking trip. Shortly thereafter, I became hooked and discovered Trailplace.com and AT-L.

Since then, I've been hanging out on various online forums adding my .02 worth to discussions (sometimes it ain't even worth that much! :D)

In 1997, I hiked Vermont's Long Trail to see if I could hack the LDH thing. 18 days later I had my answer at the Vermont border.

In 1998, hiked the AT. Changed my life to say the least!

In 1999, did the LT again before I moved to Colorado. I've been in Colorado ever since.

In 2002, hiked the PCT and discovered the wonder of the High Sierra, the magical Cascades and how addicting the life really was!

After growing restless, I needed a fix and explored my adopted home state and did the Colorado Trail in 2004. What a way to see where I live!

This past year, walked the backbone of the continent by walking the CDT.

After all these miles and months spent in the mountains, the magic of the outdoors is still strong.

Oh yeah..and I like wine, too. :)

Hey everyone, She-ra here, just hiked this year, but dreaming about it every day. Spent the weekend on Hood, dug a snow cave, slept in it, walking past the PCT in several places, relived the dream.

But a new dream in place, the CDT, moving to Durango in a few weeks to be closer...

Hello all,

I hiked WA-OR southbound in 2005 and CA northbound in 2006. Saw quite a few of you in SoCal. Hope you are all well.
