I am starting about a month later on the PCT this year then most people and I was wondering what I should be concerned about; water (where, and don’t just say the dessert) hostels shutting down, things like where should I change out my 35* bag, should I be hiking in So Cal with a long sleeved shirt into the sierras.

I have many more questions but I will see if ya’ll answer them in the thread.

Thanks.

May 15 isn't that late if you maintain a typical pace. Many will start from the kickoff at the end of April. I started my CA hike on April 30. Download a copy of AsABat's water report from http://www.4jeffrey.net/pct/ before you start for the latest water conditions.
I wore a long sleeve shirt through SoCal for sun protection.
Personally I think May is too early for a 35 degree bag. You'll be crossing some high mountains in the south and you can still see some cold temperatures.

snap,

yea i have been to AsABat's site to check out the water stats. i'm glad to hear that you don't think i am starting all-too late, i was just under the impresion that everyone starts mid apirl.

i'll rethink my sleeping bag.
