I carried Leatherman's "Juice ex6" with me on the trail. Probably a little overkill, but I found that I frequently used the pliers to do everything from handle hot cooking pots, to removing burrs from my gear to pulling splinters and even making repairs to my pack.
Now they've got a new Knife called the "Skeletool" that's lighter and even has a caribener/bottle opener so you can hook it to your belt or other gear and have it ready to use all the time (I had my juice on a lanyard and that worked pretty well too).
